In Memory of Brenda Knott

Earlier this year, we lost an integral member of the Whitehawk golf community and Captain of the Whitehawk Ranch Ladies Golf Club.

Brenda Knott passed away on January 9, 2026 in Phoenix, AZ after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Brenda was born on December 25th, 1956 in Bismarck, North Dakota and attended college at the University of Colorado receiving a B.S. degree and MBA. Brenda worked in Finance for many years in Las Vegas and Phoenix. She was a respected mentor and leader to many.

Brenda’s lifelong passion was golf. She won the Nevada State Amateur three times. She was a founding member of the Silver Cup - a major women’s Nevada Amateur Event. In 2013, Brenda was inducted into the Southern Nevada Golf Hall of Fame.

Brenda and her husband Todd have been longstanding members of the Whitehawk community and Brenda served on the WHRLGC board in many official and unofficial roles including most recently as Captain.

More importantly, Brenda touched everything golf, from the WHRLGC, to the Men’s Club, to the Pro Shop and made it better for all of us. She had a way of calming the waters, speaking the voice of reason and getting things done.

Brenda was instrumental in growing the WHRLGC over the past couple of years as we added many new members from clubs in the area and kicked off the annual match play competition between Whitehawk and Graeagle Meadows in 2024.

Brenda's passing has impacted many and we are honoring her memory and legacy by being great Ambassadors of the game of golf.

AfterGlow
I’d like the memories of me to be a happy one. I would like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I would like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun;       Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
